Service Description
This Food for Life series is exclusive only to PETA employees. A plant-based diet can help prevent diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other chronic diseases. According to the American Dietetic Association, "Appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases." Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM.org) Food for Life Employee Wellness Program provides Plant-based nutrition education and cooking classes that include a cooking demonstration, samples of delicious dishes, and a supportive group discussion. This Food for Life Employee Wellness Program course includes the following classes: - 9/05/25: Week 1: The Power of your Plate - 9/12/25: Week 2: Let's Go - 9/19/25: Week 3: Getting in Gear - 9/26/25: Week 4: Breaking the Food Seduction - 10/03/25: Week 5: Keys for Natural Appetite Control - 10/10/25: Week 6: Introduction to How Foods Fight Cancer - 10/17/25: Week 7: Cancer Fighting Compounds and Immune Boosting Foods - 10/24/25: Week 8: Introduction to How Foods Fight Diabetes - 10/31/25: Week 9: The Power of Your Plate and Grocery Cart
